2017-10-06

Honda developed a prototype of the humanoid rescue robot E2-DR.
An Android is about 170 cm tall and has a maximum width of 25 cm. It can climb stairs, walk at 4 km/h and work in rain. The E2-DR is equipped with two cameras on its head for remote operations. It can also rotate its torso.
The robot can operate in temperatures between 10 to 40 °C and is able to work in heavy rain for a short time.
However, if E2-DR falls it is unlikely to be able to stand up. According to Honda representatives, this is a prototype and the company will continue working on the project. The release date of the final E2-DR version is not reported.
