Development and prospects of educational robotics in Russia and all over the world
While the world is concerned with process automation, Russia is actively developing educational robotics. Every year the amount of specialized centers as well as those who want to become engineers and constructors of robots is increasing.
A little bit about figures
According to the International Federation of Robotics, educational robotics belongs to the market of service robotics for personal use. Over the last three years, this market grew by 7%. It is supposed that in the near future 11 bln products will be sold and the total revenue will amount to 9.1 bln dollars.
When comparing market volumes, Europe takes the third place with 778.3 mln dollars, after Asia with 6.5557 bln dollars and South America with 924.3 mln dollars.
Nowadays, the Russian Federation has 1500 robotics centers, and the market of educational robotics is estimated as high as 11.482 mln rubles.
In Great Britain, all financial decisions in public and private establishments are taken, as a rule, by the principal and not the Ministry of education. But only private schools have an opportunity to purchase all the necessary equipment for labs. As a result, the difference between pupils in private and public schools will become larger every year.
In Russia, the system is completely different: all the decisions are made by the Ministry. The chance of implementing something innovative is very small.
Apart from foreign solutions, there are also national ones on the Russian market such as “ROBBO”, “Amperka”, “TRIK”, “Evolvector”, etc. They are trying to get into their rivals’ clubs or create their own, become an official product approved by the Ministry of education to have easier access to schools.
About the future
Analysis of lots of facts confirms that the tendency of increasing a number of robots and robotics clubs will be reinforced. For instance, in 2015 the amount of centers rose by 26% while the purchase volume in 2016 – by 57%.
